More XP
witcher-3 — Mods & Enhancements
More XP overhauls the vanilla XP curve in The Witcher 3, which otherwise gates leveling behind main quests and leaves side activities under-rewarded. The x2 and x1.5 variants multiply all XP gains—from quests, kills, and exploration—so you can outpace the level requirements for high-tier gear like Mastercrafted Ursine or access higher-level skill slots earlier. Players install it to reduce grinding, especially on New Game+, where vanilla XP scaling feels artificially slow against level 100+ enemies.

🎯 Tips & Tricks
After installing More XP (x2 version), download and install 'Enemy Scaling +' (or 'Level Scaling') and set it to 'Upscale Only' in its MCM. This prevents you from outleveling content into trivial one-shots, keeping combat engaging while you gain XP faster.
If x2 is too much but x1.5 isn't enough, open the console (default ~) and type 'addxp(50)' to grant exactly 50 XP. Use this after completing a quest to simulate a custom multiplier—e.g., for a level 20 quest granting 100 XP, add 50 to get a 1.5x effect without editing files.
Navigate to mods/modMoreXP/content/ and open 'morexp.xml'. Change the value inside <quest_xp_multiplier> from 2.0 to 1.75 (or any float). Save and restart the game. This edits the core multiplier without breaking script merges, as long as you don't touch other values.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Conflict with 'Always Full XP' mod, causing XP gains to double twice
Do not install More XP alongside 'Always Full XP' (which removes level-based XP penalties). Instead, use only More XP and set its multiplier to 2.0—this already bypasses the penalty system. If both are present, merge scripts in Script Merger, but set 'Always Full XP' to disabled in its config to avoid stacking.
Incompatibility with 'W3EE Redux' (Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition) which rebalances XP entirely
W3EE Redux overhauls leveling and ignores standard XP variables. Install More XP AFTER W3EE in the load order, and use Script Merger to resolve conflicts in 'player.ws' and 'quest.ws'. Then, in W3EE's MCM, set 'XP from quests' to 'Vanilla' so More XP's multiplier applies correctly.
