BodySlide and Outfit Studio

This is a suite of tools (not a standard ESP mod) that lets you morph any body (CBBE, UNP, 3BA, BHUNP) and every outfit to your preferred shape—from flat-chested to extreme hourglass. Outfit Studio allows you to edit meshes directly, convert outfits from one body type to another (e.g., convert a CBBE armor to UNP), and create entirely new outfits by combining parts. Players install it to achieve a unified body shape across all armor/clothing, fix clipping, or create custom presets like 'Fitness' or 'Chubby'.

🎯 Tips & Tricks

Batch-build all outfits with a single preset

Open BodySlide, select your preset (e.g., 'CBBE - 3BA' or 'UNP - Slim'), then go to 'Batch Build' (button at bottom). In the popup, check 'Build morphs' and 'Build textures' (if you have texture mods). Set output to 'Data/Meshes/Actors/Character/CharacterAssets' for bodies, and 'Data/Meshes/Armor' for outfits. Click 'Build'—this processes all outfits in your load order, but skip any that are 'Outfit Studio' files (those are editing projects).

Convert a CBBE armor to UNP with Outfit Studio

Open Outfit Studio, load the CBBE armor mesh (e.g., 'Meshes/Armor/SteelPlate/SteelPlate_0.nif'). Go to 'File > Load Reference' and select a UNP body (e.g., 'Meshes/Actors/Character/CharacterAssets/UNP_0.nif'). Then select all armor parts, go to 'Mesh > Conform' to morph them to the UNP shape. Use 'Brush' tool to fix any clipping, then 'File > Export' as NIF. Save to the same path but with UNP prefix. This is the only way to get non-CBBE armors to fit UNP without CTD.

Create a custom body preset and use it in-game

In BodySlide, adjust sliders (e.g., 'BreastGravityOne', 'WaistSize'), then click 'Save Preset' (floppy icon). Name it 'MyBody'. Then build the body mesh with that preset. In-game, if you use RaceMenu, go to the 'Body' tab and select 'MyBody' from the preset dropdown—this works because BodySlide writes to the same morph system. For NPCs, use 'BodySlide Preset Manager' mod to assign presets to specific NPCs.

🔧 Troubleshooting

Outfits show as invisible or default CBBE after building with 3BA

This happens when you build 3BA outfits without the '3BA Pussy' or '3BA Butt' morphs, but the body has them. In BodySlide, for each outfit, ensure you check 'Build morphs' and select the correct 'Morphs' tab (e.g., '3BA - Vulva' or '3BA - Anus'). If still invisible, reinstall the outfit mod and rebuild with the exact same preset name as your body. Also, delete 'Data/Meshes/Actors/Character/CharacterAssets/3BA' folder and rebuild.

CTD when entering a cell with a converted outfit (e.g., UNP armor in CBBE game)

This is a mesh corruption from missing bone weights. Open the converted NIF in Outfit Studio, go to 'Bones' tab, and click 'Import Bones' from the original CBBE version. Then go to 'Mesh > Convert to Skinned' and re-export. Also, ensure the outfit's 'NiTriShape' names match the body's skeleton (e.g., 'NPC Root [Root]'). If using MO2, make sure the output folder has no conflicting files from other body mods.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

  • Building outfits with a different preset than your body—if your body is 'CBBE - 3BA' but you build an outfit with 'UNP - Slim', the outfit will clip or stretch. Always use the same preset name for all builds.
  • Forgetting to build 'Body' and 'Hands' and 'Feet' separately—if you only build the body, your hands and feet will remain vanilla shape, causing obvious seams when wearing gloves or boots. Use Batch Build to include all.
