After installing the pack, place a painting on a wall. To select a specific variant, use the command '/give @p minecraft:painting{display:{Name:'{"text":"Blacked"}'}}' then right-click repeatedly to cycle through textures. To see all variants, use the 'Painting Selector' mod (1.19.2) or open the pack's 'assets/minecraft/textures/painting' folder to preview each PNG.
Install 'MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod' and craft a 'Painting Frame' block. Place it on a wall, then right-click with the painting item from this pack to display it in a wooden frame, which rotates better in tight spaces. This avoids the vanilla painting's hitbox that can block doorways.

🔧 Troubleshooting
Paintings appear as purple/black checkered boxes after installing with OptiFine

This forces the game to use the vanilla painting system, which this pack modifies correctly. Alternatively, use the 'Continuity' mod instead of OptiFine for connected textures.
Pack shows up in resource pack list but doesn't change paintings in game
The pack only works on Minecraft 1.19.2 and earlier because Mojang changed painting IDs in 1.20. To fix, use a compatibility patch by renaming the 'painting' folder to 'painting_variant' and update the 'pack.mcmeta' to 'pack_format: 15'. Download the 'Blacked Painting 1.20 Fix' from CurseForge and overwrite the files.
