amber green model for bia
minecraft — Mods & Enhancements
This mod replaces the default 'Bia' NPC model (from the 'Minecraft Comes Alive' or 'Custom NPCs' series) with a custom Amber Green model, featuring a distinctly green-tinted skin tone, freckles, and a unique braided hair texture. It changes the base mesh, UV mapping, and idle animations, making Bia look like a forest-dwelling character. Players install this to give Bia a more unique identity, especially for roleplay or adventure maps.

🎯 Tips & Tricks
Open the Bia NPC's configuration via the NPC wand (right-click the NPC > Edit > Model). Set the scale to 0.95 for both X and Y to match Amber Green's proportions. Otherwise the head will look oversized compared to the body.
In the mod's config file (config/amber_green_bia.cfg), set 'enableFreckles=true' and 'freckleOpacity=0.8'. Then in-game, press F3+A to reload chunks. If freckles don't appear, check that you have 'Render Layers' set to 'Fancy' in Video Settings.
Install 'Geophilic' or 'Biomes O' Plenty' and place Bia in a lush forest. Use the command '/summon bia ~ ~ ~ {Model:amber_green}' to spawn her with the correct model. The green skin will reflect the ambient light better in those biomes.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Model shows as a black silhouette when using 'OptiFine' with 'Custom Entity Models'
Disable OptiFine's 'Smart Animations' and set 'Entity Shadows' to OFF. The mod uses a custom shader for the braid that conflicts with OptiFine's shadow mapping. Alternatively, install 'CEM' and manually assign the model in the OptiFine resource pack.
Bia's dialogue breaks when using 'MCA' (Minecraft Comes Alive) with this model
In the MCA config, set 'entityModelOverrides' to 'amber_green' for the Bia entity. Then go to the file 'config/mca.toml' and change 'dialogueModelBinding' from 'default' to 'amber_green'. This ensures the model doesn't reset the NPC's AI.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
- Not updating the Bia NPC's hitbox size after installing the model, causing the character to be stuck in blocks or unable to go through doors. Always adjust the hitbox in the NPC editor to 0.6 width and 1.8 height.
- Using the mod with 'Bia's Quest' datapack without adding the required NBT tags, which results in the model not loading and the NPC appearing as a purple/black checkerboard. Add the tag '{Model:amber_green}' via the /data command.
