Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project
cyberpunk-2077 — Mods & Enhancements
This mod reworks the base game's texture assets—roads, concrete, dirt, walls, and certain props—by upscaling and hand-rebuilding them to 4K while keeping the original art direction and PBR values intact. It replaces the blurry, low-res ground and building textures that become obvious at 1440p/4K, improving visual clarity without adding new geometry or taxing your GPU with extra draw calls. Players install it to get sharper surfaces that match the game's intended gritty aesthetic, especially when using Photo Mode or driving through the Badlands.

🎯 Tips & Tricks
In the mod's archive, there's a 'Parallax_Optional' folder. Extract only the .archive from there and drop it into your 'archive/pc/mod' folder, replacing the base version. This adds subtle depth to brick and concrete walls. Then in-game, go to Settings > Video > Graphics > Texture Quality and set it to 'High' (Ultra won't make a difference). Requires a GPU with at least 8GB VRAM to avoid stutter.
Install HD Reworked Project FIRST, then install 'Ultra Plus' (a graphics overhaul mod) on top. In the Ultra Plus config file (usually at 'bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks.ini'), set 'TextureQualityOverride = 2' to force high-res streaming. This prevents the game's dynamic resolution from downscaling your new textures during fast movement.
Open the console (using Cyber Engine Tweaks) and type 'textureStreamingPoolSize = 512' (increase from default 256). This forces the engine to keep more textures in memory, eliminating the gray blurry pop-in you might see when driving fast. Save it in your 'bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks.ini' under [Gameplay] to make it permanent.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Conflicts with 'Cyberpunk 2077 Environmental Texture Overhaul' (ETO) causing missing textures on buildings
ETO replaces many of the same wall and ground textures. You must choose ONE. If you want both, install HD Reworked Project, then ETO, and manually delete ETO's 'wall' and 'road' folders from its .archive using ArchiveXL. Load order: HD Reworked must be loaded BEFORE ETO in Vortex (put ETO lower in the mod list).
Causes severe VRAM spikes and crashes with 'Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra Plus' and '4K Texture Pack' installed together
These three mods together can exceed 11GB VRAM on 1440p. Use 'Cyber Engine Tweaks' to set 'RenderScale = 0.85' and 'VolumetricFog = 0' in its ini. Also, disable the '4K Texture Pack' for vehicles only—HD Reworked already covers most vehicle body panels. Load order: HD Reworked > Ultra Plus > 4K Texture Pack (but disable the vehicle folder inside the 4K pack).
⚠️ Common Mistakes
- Installing the mod without deleting the 'archive/pc/mod' folder from previous versions of HD Reworked—this causes duplicate textures and random crashes. Always clean-install by deleting the old .archive before dropping the new one.
- Running this mod on a 6GB VRAM GPU with 'Ultra' texture quality and expecting 60fps—you'll get constant stutter and texture thrashing. Use 'High' texture quality and set 'TextureStreamingPoolSize' to 256 instead of 512.
